Today, as I noticed the change in the air when I opened the front door of my Florida home, I was reminded of the natural rhythm of life and how great it is to just allow it to happen. Especially in our Coastal Vacations Business.

For those of you who don’t know, I am a New Englander at heart. I live in Florida currently, but my heart has always been in the beautiful country, quaint back roads of Western Massachusetts.  That’s right, I am a pure blood country girl - even though I live in Florida with my husband and children at the present time.

This morning, I rose to a beautiful cool breeze through the front door. It is September 30th, and this is when Florida just starts cooling off. Normally, I don’t pay much attention to the specific day that the weather starts to change here. I may notice it, and enjoy the relief that the cooler air brings, but dont usually consider the significance of it. Today was different.

Maybe its because I’m getting older and I am getting less patient waiting for the cooler months here. Maybe its because I have kids and I’ve been waiting for the air to cool off so I can take them outside and to the park. Maybe its because I spent the summer in upstate New York and had mornings like this every day in the month of July (2 months ago!!), which in turn made me less tolerant of the heat when we got back here.  

Regardless, I was reminded that change is inevitable. And, I cannot change or control the seasons. They just happen, and they happen just like that - you wake up one morning and the air is cool.

The seasons of nature, and of life, unfold at their own pace, own time.  I can wait impatiently for the cool season in Florida to come, I can get frustrated that it doesn’t come fast enough - but its not going to alter the course of nature.  The only thing I can really do is either accept it - or move out of Florida! Who knows - we may do that soon.

Until then, I am just so grateful for this cool day here today. I feel lighter, optimistic, chipper. I feel like I can move more easily and breath fuller. I am so glad it is here. And I knew it would come, when it was ready.

How many of us do this in our Coastal business? We know that each of us has a natural rhythm, path, journey we have no other choice but to experience, including ups and downs, misstakes, and triumphs.

And yet we tend to get locked into our goals, seeking perfection of an outcome, forcing a result and frustrated when things don’t work. It’s all part of the natural order of the experience, yet we fight it, impatiently, like somehow we can, with our own will, change the leaves, and make fall air.

If you are experiencing some struggle in your business at the moment, remember that the seasons will change, that you will see success in your Coastal Vacations business in its own due time. Some people blossom quickly, while others take longer to mature and grow.  It’s all perfect. If you can just practice more acceptance and relax into your growth, it will make the journey so much more gratifying and rewarding.

When we can look at the good in all the seasons of our lives and our business, we have such tremendous power to have peak experiences much more often. When we have faith and expect and know that the change will come, we can literally wake up to a new experience - just like that! 

Practicing acceptance and gratitude will build a new natural order of prosperity in your life.  Just like with nature - you will not need to or be able to control the fruits of prosperity. It will just happen, without effort.
